It is so vivid.

Can somebody please tell me what this beautiful tree is?
That tree is definately a Jacaranda (the J is pronounced as an H, since it is of Hispanic origin [actually, the botanical name for the Plant Kingdom are technically Latin names]) The trees are green in foilage during the year, except the warmer summer months when the green turns to a beautiful violet canopy for about 3 months..........Living in SoCal all my life, I've seen them all the time.....they are beautiful, but a real mess if planted over pavement......

Christopher Report It

Reply:The picture said it was a barcelona lilac tree; but it sure looks like a jacaranda mimosifolium http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacaranda
Reply:i kinda agree with the lady above but after further comparison i believe it is a Jacaranda Bhutan not a Jacaranda mimosifolia. The Mimosifolia has to much green and the flowers seem to be a bit bigger... so therefore I believe it is the Bhutan.
Reply:at the top of the photo it says it's a lilac tree!!
Reply:I really have no idea, but I love how pretty it is. I did find a site that may be helpful to you though, if you'd like to take a look through some of these trees on this site, you may find the answer to your question. Glad I could be of some help to you. Good luck.
Reply:Jacaranda. Grows everywhere in SoCal. I think it is native to Australia and New Zealand.
Reply:lilac
