We are planning our wedding for June of 2008, advice please!?

we have both agreed on one of the colors for our wedding. we chose a Lilac shade of purple. What other colors do you think would look good with Lilac?Thank you in advance!

Reply:Any other pastels should go great... and even an ivory color. When you start looking at specifics like bridesmaids dresses, flowers, etc. you may notice that certain things look best in certain colors.





If you want, you could incorporate a darker/brighter color to give a "pop" of color... a darker/brighter shade of the lilac would go great.





Golds and silvers usually go with just about anything... and even black!





I would just suggest checking different colors of different "things" (dresses, flowers, tuxedo vests, etc) and when you see it, you'll know it... You could always go to a book store and finger through their wedding magazines to get a few ideas... and you can go to a craft store to look at their artificial flowers to get an idea of what kind of flower and what color you would like.

Reply:I was a 2007 June Bride and used yellows and greens in my flowers. The greens were really unique and would also be a complimentary color to a purple shade like lilac. Some flower recommendations are green and purple hydrangeas with yellow day lilies. All these are in season at this time. Just decide where you want to use each color (bridesmaids, mens vests/ties, flowers, invitations.) Enjoy!

Have you booked a venue yet because your colours may depend a lot on the colour sceme of your location. Here are a few idea to go with lilac;


pale green


chocolate brown


silver


gold and black


light blue and navy blue


hot pink


Most colours would look ok with lilac, just stay away from light pinks as it will make your colour scheme look too pale and washed out, and colours like red, orange and yellow as they will clash.

Reply:I had a light purple lavendar/lilac and a blue at Davids Bridal called pool others call it...Tiffany blue I think if you search davids bridal you can look at a pool color dress and see if it works. I loved my colors they went well together I thought. Good luck

Do an image search for flower bouquets. It is the best way to see colours working in harmony, even if you are not looking for flowers yet you will be able to visualize the colours working together.
