My dress is going to be white, the maid of honor dress is lilac, and the bridesmaids dresses are truffle, which is a dark brown. At first we decided that the groom was going to have a black tux and white vest, the best man was going to be in a black tux and lilac vest, and the groomsmen were going to be in black tux and truffle vest. The problem is I think the black tux and the truffle dresses wouldn't look good together. I just want the colors to blend together. My colors for the wedding are truffle, lilac, and cream. I need some ideas for what color tux the put the groom, the bestman, and the groomsmen in.
What color should I pick for the grooms and groomsmen tux?
I like having them wear a lighter color that will work with the spring colors. Or a darker brown if it blends with your truffle. I'd send a sample of fabric with the guys when they pick out the tuxes.
Reply:The reason they quit making brown tuxes years ago was becasue they were not flattering on anyone. There is nothing wrong with black tuxes against brown dresses. If any of your guests are that nitpicky, they have bigger issues to deal with since most people won't notice or care. Only you as the bride will notice that detail.

Reply:try cream vests. The cream and truffle will blend beautifully. I can see where you might think the black/brown won't mix maybe go to the tux place and have your hubby try it on so you can get an idea of the different vests.
But the cream vests would be pretty w/ the brown dresses.

Reply:Where i come from... the groom picks his own tux and the tuxes for his groomsmen. They are grown adults.... let them dress themselves. Let him know what the colors are, and what your ideas are... and let them do their thing.
