It looks tacky HELP?!?

people say purple and lilac eyeshadow bring out green in eyes but it looks so tacky and crap is there anything else i could use to bring the green out of my eyes by not using lilac or tacky eyeshadows?

It looks tacky HELP?!?
Light browns will do the same thing .... even better, mix a light brown with a pale green eye shadow for something very different.
Reply:some colthes you wear will bring your eyes out to.but if you have a mall where you live go there and they sometime will do a make up job on you.and they are pretty good about picking out the right colors.
Reply:Try applying a thin line of aubergine (egg plant color) eyeliner, instead of eyeshadow.

It doesnt look as tarty, and is very subtle.

I also have green eyes, and I know how hard it is to bring green out, as appose to blue or brown.
Reply:purple eye shadow looks fine as long as its worn correctly......
Reply:a smokey grey would look great
Reply:I have green eyes too and I only use the purple on the lid, closest to my eye, not extending all the way up to the brow. That worked for me. I also use gold in the same manner. And I have tried shimmery green, which got a lot of compliments from men and women. Also, I find that a lot of mascara works well too, but if I do that, then nothing else goes on my eyes.
Reply:use browns but do it sort of subtle and smokey...this looks great!!--don't go overboard though! good luck!!
Reply:Almay makes a line of eyeshadows for each eye color

Check it out, it comes with directions to apply and looks really awsome.
Reply:Absolutely, however, I'm no famous make-up artist or anything, but i'll still try to help out. Tan, beige, with a light dust of charcoal grey and/or Tan, beige with copper, and line your lids with charchoal grey. Use plums for your purple but just a hint of it also with tan, beige, copper, and even a hint of gold. Don't hesitate to use greens, but keep it within the aqua greens, say light aqua for cheerful, outgoing, business, and dark for mysterious, and evening events. Hope that helps good luck!

Reply:For green eyes, use the almay eyeshadows for green eyes. I had green contacts for a while and that eyeshadow made them pop. Check out the website-- they even show you how to put it on :)
Reply:try brown or taupe. you should also be able to find a brown with a purplish undertone that will work really nicely.
Reply:I have green eyes and I use a purple eyeliner, just a thin line on the top lashline and then I use whatever color eyeshadow I want. The trick is to use a thin line. It really does make your green eyes "pop".
Reply:use metallic golds, bronzes, coppers and earth tones instead
Reply:maybe its the WAY you are using them...did you put on too much, did you choose too bright or pale a shade? it should all be blended and subtle...i have green eyes, red-blond hair, ultra-fiar complexion and I love the purple and mauve tones...but they can't be too flashy and sparkly
Reply:Try earth tones, pinks, peach and warm tones.
Reply:I like to use a deep shade of green, which I use over a deep brown to give my eyes some shading. I don't use much, just a hint.
Reply:ok,to start with, only people with olive or darker skin will look good with those colors lke purple and etc. For your green eyes try golden colours, dark brown colours....if they are light green even try black eye pencil inside the eye lid. And oh yeah, a friend of mine has ginger hair and green eyes and she uses warm blue colours.....very eye catching.....and yeah...looks amazing.
Reply:With green eyes I think it's so hot to put dark smokey eyeliner and shadow all around your eyes. I think the contrast is amazing and makes your eyes sound out.
Reply:I have green eyes and I would say the best thing Ive found that makes them look absolutely stunning is charcoal grey eyeliner and brown/green eyeshadows. And of course mascara is always nice!
Reply:remeber the show called The Drew Carey show and how that one assistant wore god awful eye makeup? Keep is simple, and natural. If you use color, use it to highlight, not outrage! less is more.
Reply:Try a brown or bronze. I have hazel eyes and using a brown shadow really makes them look green. Some to try are Revlon's ColorStay Quad in Coffee Bean or Sandstorm, MAC shadow in Tempting or Brun, MAC eyeliner in Bountiful Brown and Rimmel liner in Panama. A much more natural color, and a brown smoky eye is very in for this fall. Lilac isn't good, but you might try a toned-down plum like MAC in Trax.
