I want to redo my room?

My bedroom is lilac with a lilac/gray carpet. I would like to do my room with a french, victorian , chanel vibe. IN white, black,pinkandpurple. My funiture is white. i think to give it the elegant vibe your looking for, you need to incorporate some metalic accent into the room. silver, platinum, pewter, brushed aluminum, all look great with purple and lilac and white.


candelabra style lamps, vases, brush and comb set handles, perfume bottle lids, mirrored tray feet....all these can be done in metallics. also a satiny silver/gray metalic-sheened fabric for upholstery, bedding, and window treatments would look great. have you considered getting a vanity with large round mirror? you could cover it with a gray satin dropcloth, and upholster a stool for it in the same material.


black framed black and white fashion magazine photos from the 40's and 50's would work well on the walls.


a white or pale grey shag carpet would be cool on the floor.


you could also paint gray vertical stripes on the lilac walls.


a few cushions of various shapes and sizes covered in a rich dark eggplant (aubergine) cover would really add a punch of bold color to a pale silvery lilac bedspread.
