How do I get rid of the neighbors lilacs that have grown under my fence?

Have they actually come up in the form of saplings, or is it just the branches extending into your yard?

Branches: Prune them off with pruners or hedge clippers.

Saplings: Pull them up by hand if they are still small, dig out larger clumps.

You may want to give the neighbor a head's up before you start cutting on their lilacs just to keep the peace. If they complain, you still legally have the right to remove any intrustive landscaping crossing your property line.

Reply:Lilacs do not grow under a fence. But, whatever it is, you have the right to remove it if it is on your property. I would ask your neighbors if they would like to prune it from their side so you don't injure the plant.

That way you keep peace with the neighbor and let him/her know you want it removed. If they don't act on it, do it yourself.
Reply:Trim Them
