Do lilacs grow in Florida?

We are moving to central Florida and I love lilacs. Any chance I might be able to grow one? I have moderate experience in gardening. Thanks!

Do lilacs grow in Florida?
Sorry, but no. Lilacs are adapted to USDA Hardiness Map zones 3, 4, 5 and milder areas of zone 2. Central Florida is Zone 8, 9 and 10. Lilacs need the cold of winter.
