i need ideas for the bride and bridesmaids
What would be a good flower choice for a wedding in july if the color of the wedding is victorian lilac?
I think you should play on victorian. Look up victorian era traditions. I like the idea of them carrying fans. and wearing gloves. I think if you picked victorian lilac, clearly there is something about that elegence of the time period that you are drawn to. Play on that!
Flowers in the victorian era all held very special meanings. I%26#039;d look up the meaning of flowers and select whichever ones had certain meanings.
Just as a flower though--with victorian lilac I either like a cream/ivory if the bride is a romantic. And lots of orchids.
Or a vivid yellow. Vivid yellow is very summery. And is gorgeous with pale purples. especially with a pale blue as well.
July is a great time b/c so many flowers are in style. If you are trying to save money, there are lots of seasonal local flowers then. Calla lillies are a frequent pick and come in nearly all colors.
For the bride, I like a cascading fluid bouquet, instead of the round bouquets popular now. I love something like this

OH! and for the bridesmaids--definitely put their bouquets in tussie mussies! That is soo victorian. And looks so well-kept.

Reply:You can get roses in any color including lilac. Orchids can be lilac and are very elegant. Phlox comes in lilac
Or you may want white flowers with lilac ribbons.
