Which Color do you like better?

I can%26#039;t decide between two colors for my bridesmaids dresses. They are from David%26#039;s Bridal the choices are Lilac or Victorian Lilac. Lilac is light while the Victorian Lilac is darker. The wedding is Memorial Weekend. I have 6 bridesmaids and a maid of honor. 2 are larger than average, 2 are skinner than average, and the rest are average shape. 2 are brunettes, 1 is a blonde, 2 are dark blonde, and one is a light red head. Only one girl is tan. The rest are light-medium skin toned. I am waiting to hear their opinions, but I wanted to get others opinions. Which color do you like better? Which Color do you like better?
Lilac. You can always use a darker purple for accents.

For our July wedding, we had lilac, pink, yellow and light teal as our colours.
Reply:Use the lighter color, accented by the darker shade.
Reply:I am also getting married in a few yrs and I have my color picked out and its lilac. So I think that is the best choice.

Reply:I love Lilac and you should go with the lighter color and follow up with the darker one for your decorations.
Reply:The Victorian Lilac is beautiful. The lighter color looks more for summer.
Reply:It%26#039;s really up to you. I%26#039;m doing purple also for my wedding in May 08. I went straight to David%26#039;s and hated the color choices for the lighter shades of purple. Of your 2 choices, I would pick Lilac.

PS I went to another store and went with a Jordan dress in Violet. Much closer to what I wanted the color to look like.

Have fun.
Reply:I like the Victorian Lilac. The lilac might make certain people look washed out. The Victorian Lilac looks like a color that would look good on everybody. It looks rich and pretty to me.

I changed my mind. I think you should mix it up and do both. You could do whatever looks best on each bridesmaid and then accent in the opposite color.
Reply:Why don%26#039;t you have the bridesmaids wear the lighter lilac color and the maid of honor wear the Victorian Lilac. It will set her apart from the others.
Reply:Get their opinions. But as a hairstylist with the colors of skin and hair you just described.. sounds like Lilac would look lovely with all of their skin tones. But get their opinions first since they are ones who are buying their dresses.
Reply:I think lilac is a beautiful color fo rthat time of the year. I think it fits the lightest to darkest complexions. For my wedding i had eight bridesmaids and i intermixed them with lilac and coral. the contrast looked great in my pictures.

What i can advise you to do it take your bridemaids to david bridal have some try both shades together an have them choose which they prefer or even better you might even like how the two shades look together.

Good luck and congrats.
Reply:go with the color that looks best against your skin.
Reply:go with your instinct or pick the one that looks better on your skin .if you are tan, then the lilac will look better on you because it will bring out your tan. hope this helps!
Reply:Wow, you sound like me. My wedding is Memorial%26#039;s Day weekend 2008 and I have 5 girls altogether and they are wearing Lilac. I say pick Lilac, Victorian Lilac is too dark for me. Anything in the purple family I%26#039;ll go withk I love purple. I love the dresses at david%26#039;s bridal in lilac too. Good Luck and Congrats.
Reply:lilac. i think the lilac color fits your description to your brides maids and maid of honor.
Reply:You could use both. For my wedding, I had 3 bridesmaids with different colors and different dresses. I chose lavender and blue for my colors. I wanted each bridesmaid to be comfortable with the color and the dress. I wanted them to be able to wear the dress again. I didn%26#039;t want them to be stressed financially. I love the look in the photos. No one said anything to me about it. The main objective is that I wanted everyone to have a good time. I wanted to be a little different too. I didn%26#039;t want my wedding to be like everyone else%26#039;s.
