Whats the best way to remove lilac roots from my garden?

The roots have gone everywhere. Infested the walls, gone absolutely everywhere. Ive started to dig them out but they never end. AARRGGGGHHHHHHH!

Whats the best way to remove lilac roots from my garden?
There%26#039;s a chemical cure, but you%26#039;ll need to remove any wanted plants from the area. Let the suckers grow. When they get their second set of leaves, paint all 4 leaves with either glycophospate (sold as Murphy%26#039;s Tumbleweed) or neat mecoprop (sold as liquid hormone lawn weedkiller). Paint each sucker as it appears and the chemicals will go back and kill the roots.
Reply:it%26quot;s supossed to be un lucky to cut lilac ,they grew on bombed out houses in the war where people lost their lives ,
