I recently bought the home that my grandfather built (and I grew up in.) My grandmother had wanted a purple bathroom (it was the 60%26#039;s) - and my grandfather put in the light purple sink basin, toilet, and bathtub. The counter holding the sink is 6 feet long and I would love to find another basin to match the existing; to form a double sink. Checked Lowes, Home Depot, EBay and various websites without luck. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Does anyone out there have a retro (1960%26#039;s circa) lavender or lilac self-rimming, oval bath basin?
Mansfield offered a lavender china colour about two years ago - you might want to call a plumbing supplier to see if they can call Mansfield to check stock. ( http://www.mansfieldplumbing.com )This isn%26#039;t likely - but give it a try.
What you could also do - and this would be really hit and miss - would be to check out a building products recycling store (for instance - we have a %26quot;Habitat Re-Store%26quot; here).
Or maybe - just maybe you could get an old enamelled steel sink and get it re-glazed in lavender.
Anyway - if none of that works... why not just get two white sinks? Most 60%26#039;s baths that were lavender were also done in white. That could be your last resort I suppose. Good luck!
Hope this helps!
