If it is poisonous they%26#039;d know (by smell) and so wouldn%26#039;t eat it anyway so there%26#039;s no problem.
Would it be safe to plant a lilac tree near rabbit run.Would they eat leaves etc and would it poison them ?
I can%26#039;t find any info in my books about lilac but you could check out the following website for guidance about safe trees %26amp; plants:

Reply:Lilac isn%26#039;t poisonous, as far as I%26#039;m aware. They had rabbits and lilacs next door, oh, and guinea pigs. The only thing that died was the lilac.
Reply:Springg do not overestimate any animals intelligence. Most animals will eat something if they fancy it. If they do not like it they will not eat any more. However some plants can be so toxic to small animals that just a single leaf could cause sever problems. Try this web site:

Reply:I don%26#039;t have rabbits but i have not heard of lilac being associated with any poison for any other species.
